I want to share it because it is inspirational, because it is Open Source, because it is a social project, because it is cad/cam and... because I like it!
It is a sport wheelchair that can be build with simple materials and tools: some pipes, some plywood (CAD/CAM cut or do-it-yourself) and some bicycle parts.
Dimensions and size can be changed at will, making it completely custom.
TooWheels is a project also released in an Open Source version for non-commercial use.
It can be downloaded at toowheels.org/ and built anywhere in the world.
Building it yourself should cost between 180 and 250 euro.
TooWheels has been designed by Fabrizio Alessio, designer and maker based in Turin, Italy.
For this great project he has been awarded, by ADI (Industrial Design Association) the Compasso D'Oro Targa Giovani, the prestigious industrial design award for young designers.
Well done Fabrizio!
